Going On Vacation

Packing up to go on vacation? Planning ahead is key to making your trip safe and enjoyable.

Here are some tips on how to make traveling possible with a family member that has allergies.

Most important, you should have an Insulated Allergy Bag with you wherever you go. Everybody's needs are different but some items to always have around include an Epi Pen, allergy medicine, Zaditor Antihistamine Eye DropsTraveling Benadryl Vials and asthma inhaler if needed. This oral syringe with tip cap can also hold your benadryl dosages and the cap makes it drip free.

If you are traveling by plane it would be a good idea to freeze the food and then use this  Vacuum pack machine so the food can last longer. You can then keep the food in this insulated briefcase. It's a great carry on as long as your food is frozen solid. if you want to check in the food you can use this  insulated food bag. Everything can be kept frozen with these reusable ice packs.

It can be challenging to find a place to warm up food while traveling but there are some great portable ovens on the market. If you are traveling by car, this Traveling Portable Oven is a great option since it plugs straight into the cars electric outlet. It can take up to an hour or two to get the food warm so make sure you plug it in and put the food in early enough. If you need something for a regular outlet (i.e. to use on the plane, in hotel room, or wedding hall) you can use the Hot Logic Mini Portable Oven Warmer. There is also this electric portable lunch box which can be used with a regular outlet or a car outlet (it comes with 2 plugs). It also has the added benefit that it works in both the U.S. (110V) and Israel (220V). You will just need an adapter such as this one to fit into an Israeli outlet. The Betty crocker pizza maker can also cook and warm up food.

A disposable grill or Cuisinart Charcoal Grill is another great option when traveling in the summer.

It is always a good idea to bring your own cutlery, plates, knives, cutting boards, and cookware especially if you'll be driving by car.

If traveling by plane, bring wipes to clean the seats before you sit down to get rid of any leftover residue from the previous passengers.

After you open a benadryl bottle it keeps leaking. If you need to travel with it, pour it in a prescription bottle and this way it wont leak.
